

The Thunder Ridge Campground is located about 8 miles east of Woodland Park at an elevation of 9,200 feet. This campground has 21 campsites suitable for small RVs and tents. Three sites (8, 10, and 22) are handicapped-accessible. The campground is well shaded with aspen and lodgepole pines. The paved road forms a single loop around a grassy meadow. There is a trail leading to Rampart Reservoir at the far end of the campground. Facilities include three vault toilets and six water hydrants. Two of the toilets are handicapped-accessible. Reservations are accepted for all of the campsites. There is an entrance fee for the Rampart Range Recreation Area. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend.

BOATING: Boating is available on Rampart Reservoir.
BIKING: Mountain bike riding is available on the Rainbow Gulch and Rampart Reservoir trails.
Directions:
From Woodland Park take County Road 22 (turn right off Hwy 24 just before the McDonald’s) for about 3 miles to the Rampart Range Road ( Forest Road 300). Go south on Rampart Range Road for about 2.5 miles to Forest Road 306. Turn left and travel about 2.5 miles to the campground.
