Spillway Campground

The Spillway Campground is located about ten miles southwest of the town of Lake George at an elevation of 8,500 feet. This campground is located inside of Elevenmile Canyon at the base of Elevenmile Canyon Dam. There are 24 campsites situated around two loops. The largest loop is located along the South Platte River in a large meadow. A few spruce trees provide a little shade. The other loop is in among some ponderosa pines next to the canyon wall. Campsites will accommodate tents as well as small to medium RVs. Several of the tent sites are walk-ins. The road coming into the campground is very narrow, not recommended for larger RVs. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire grate. Campground facilities include a vault toilet in each loop and hand-pumped water hydrants. Reservations are accepted for Spillway campsites. A daily entrance fee is required for Elevenmile Canyon. Open May through October.
