Painted Rocks Campground

The Painted Rocks Campground is located about 7.3 miles north of WoodlandPark at an elevation of about 7,900 feet. This campground has 18 campsites suitable for tents and small RVs. These campsites are arranged around two loops. Most campsites are large and well spaced apart. The campground is situated in an open grassy meadow with scattered ponderosa pine trees providing adequate shade. The roads through the campground are gravel. Each loop has a vault toilet and water hydrant. There are several very interesting rock formations scattered around the edge of the campground. These red sandstone rocks have been sculpted by the wind and remind one of a Disney fantasy. ManitouParkLake is about a half mile north of the campground. Reservations are available for 12 of the 18 sites in the campground. The nearest RV dump station is located just outside the Pike Community Group Campground. Open end of May through mid September.
