Oak Creek Campground
     

     The Oak Creek Campground is located about 15 miles south of Ca ñ on City on County Road 143 (Oak Creek Grade Road) at an elevation of 7,600 feet. There are 15 campsites in the campground. This primitive campground is most suitable for tents or truck campers. The road leading to the campground is a steep, winding dirt road. The campground is located in a stand of ponderosa pines. Facilities include three vault toilets. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire grate. This seldom used campground offers solitude and the price is right. Free. Reservations are not accepted. Open May through September.

HIKING: Hiking is available on trails along Oak Creek Grade Road .

BIKING: Biking is available on trails along Oak Creek Grade Road .

MOTORIZED TRAIL RIDING : Access to Lion Canyon multiuse trail at campground. East Bear Gulch, Stutz and Tanner trailheads are all within 6 miles and are also multi-use trails.

From Hwy 50 in Canon City, go south on 9th street until 9th street turns into Elm Ave. Turn right on Elm Ave, proceed for one block and then turn left onto Oak Creek Grade Road. The campground is approximately 15 miles on the left.
