Lost Park Campground
     

      The Lost Park Campground is located about 21 miles south east of Jefferson at the end of County Road 56. It sits on a bench above a large park at an elevation of 10,000 feet. The campground is located on the edge of the Lost Creek Wilderness Area. There are 12 campsites arranged around two lollypop shaped loops. Most of the sites are under a canopy of lodgepole pines with a few being out in the open. Facilities include two vault toilets and a hand-pumped water hydrant. These campsites are suitable for tents and small RVs. The roads through the campground are dirt/gravel. This campground is popular with hikers. The long winding road (21 miles) is narrow and not friendly to larger trailers. Reservations are not accepted for sites in this campground. Open Memorial Day through September.

Take Highway 285 north from Jefferson about a mile to County Road 56. Follow this narrow, winding road for 21 miles to the campground.
