Devil's Head Campground
     

      The Devil’s Head Campground is located about 15 miles southwest of Castle Rock at the south end of the Rampart Range . The elevation here is 8,800 feet. This campground contains 21 campsites with a maximum recommended vehicle length of 20 feet. Most of the sites are more suitable for tents but a few could be used by small RVs or truck campers. Camping areas are located on two branches with turnaround loops at the end. There is also a picnic area with a trail leading to a fire lookout tower. There are nine campsites on the first branch with a vault toilet and two water hydrants. Many of the campsites are located among some large boulders. The tent sites are not well defined or very level. The second branch contains all walk-in tent sites. There are no water hydrants on the second branch. Reservations are not accepted for sites in this campground.

Activities:
HIKING: There are several trails and roads suitable for hiking. There is a trail leading from the campground to a fire lookout tower.

BIKING: Trails and forest roads are easily accessible from the campground.

OFF-HIGHWAY RIDING : Numerous trails for OHV riding are located in the area.

Take Highway 85 northwest from Castle Rock to Sedalia . Head southwest on Highway 67 for 10 miles to the Rampart Range Road (FR 300). Go about nine miles south to the campground.
