

The Aspen Campground is located about 82 miles west of Fort Collins just south of Highway 14 at Gould. This single loop campground is situated next to the South Fork of the Michigan River at an elevation of 8,920 feet. There are seven campsites with a maximum spur length of 22 feet. The campground is next to a meadow with dense willows, a favorite habitat for moose. The sites are well shaded by aspen and lodgepole pines. Facilities include one vault toilet and a water pump. Each site has a picnic table and fire grate. These campsites are more suited for tents or small RVs and trailers. There are no defined tent pads. The road through the campground is dirt. This relatively primitive campground offers a peaceful spot near a mountain stream. Reservations are not accepted at this campground.

Directions:
Take Highway 287 north from Fort Collins to Laporte. Continue on Highway 287 to Highway 14. Travel west on 14 for 81 miles to Gould. Turn left (south) on County Road 21 / Forest Road 740 and travel about .8 miles to the campground.
