Tom Bennett Campground
     

     Tom Bennett Campground is located about 15.5 miles south of Highway 14 on the Pingree Park Road at an elevation of 9,000 feet. The campground is situated in a mixed stand of spruce, lodgepole pine, and aspen along the South Fork of the Cache La Poudre River. There are 12 sites in the campground. Although one could camp in a truck camper or van, all of the sites are more suitable for tents. Campsites in the southwest end of the campground are not as heavily timbered. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring or grate. The maximum vehicle length that can be accommodated is 20 feet.
     The roads through the campground are dirt. There is no water available in the campground. The one restroom will not accommodate disabled persons. Reservations are not accepted for campsites in this campground. The season for this campground normally runs from May to October, depending on the weather.

Activities:
FISHING: Fishing for trout is available in the South Fork of the Cache La Poudre River, Fish Creek, and Beaver Creek.

HIKING: Hiking is available on trails traveling into the Comanche Peak Wilderness and Rocky Mountain National Park. These include the Emmaline Lake, Mummy Pass, Stormy Peaks, Beaver Creek, and Fish Creek trails.

BICYCLING: Numerous jeep roads offer ample opportunity for mountain bike rides.

Directions:
     
Take Highway 287 north from Fort Collins to Laporte. Continue on Highway 287 to Highway 14. Travel west on 14 for 24 miles to the Pinegree Park Road. Turn left and travel 15.5 miles to the campground. The campground is on the right side of the road.
